Mands:7
This morning when I arrived, I found Whitney, Marlaina, and Tony playing by the bus! Tony said “arcka, arcka, come arcka.” (That’s how he now pronounces my name.) I ran right over and he laughed. He played a kind of game in which he starts at the front of the bus and then runs in any of four directions until you catch him. It was a good thing Whitney was around because he is getting really quick!
We embarked on our first walk of the day. It was a little chilly and seemed like it might rain. Tony played drums on the recycling bin; every time he does this he makes this loud noise. Neither Whitney nor I can discern this noise. Does anyone who has been on walks with Tony know what he is saying? Then we saw some of those weird looking Muscovy ducks across the courtyard. Whitney pointed and said “Tony, look . . . what are those?” We all ran across to them and he finally said “ducks.” Then Whitney asked him what sound they made and after some hesitation he replied “quack.” We spent most of the rest of the walk trying to avoid the many puddles which resulted from our recent bouts of rain.
As we were rounding the corner at the end of our walk, Whitney and I noticed a certain vehicle which we knew belonged to a certain speech therapist. We spelled out a plan to eachother so that the little one wouldn’t catch on. This was the perfect time for ‘who.’ We told Tony there was someone here and prompted him to say “who.” When we finally entered the house, his curiosity was rewarded by Jill’s presence.
After his work with Jill, we all headed out for a field trip to Costco in West Ashley. On the way there Whitney started to feel sick and we had to make a pit stop so she could get sick in the gas station. Poor Whitney felt so bad she had to stay in the car and rest while Tony and Marlaina and I were shopping. She said she was feeling better now. I hope so!
Whitney brought Tony into his room and they tackled most of the maintenance items for the week. Good job guys! Then Tony was starting to get cranky and we knew it was time for a nap.
